We are the Taiwan branch of an international SI provider. One time we won a great opportunity to handle the Elite Bookstore project. It was an important task for us since Elite was (and still is) an iconic chain bookstore in Taiwan, featuring a unique taste and owning more than forty stores around the island. Our job was to provide a multi-media kiosk for its selective audio/video shops, allowing customers to preview audio or video disks.

We had ZEBEX as our module provider in this project because we know ZEBEX for its complete product line and responsive service. The first version of our kiosk used a CCD scan module but given the reading performance was poor and the error rate too high, the outcome was not satisfying. We studied the case and found the problem was on the CCD scan module which only allowed single scan line at a fixed direction. As a result, customers did not know how to have the machine read the barcodes on CD or DVD and could not preview their interested items.

To fix this problem, ZEBEX immediately proposed A-50M, an omnidirectional laser scan module of 20 scan lines. Its reticular laser lines could easily read barcodes presented to its scan window and all customers enjoyed their previewing experience. The multi-media kiosk received pretty positive feedback from Elite Bookstore and has become an indispensible sales tool for Elite.

Thanks to ZEBEX prompt support, we managed to close the project, satisfy the customer and promote our brand. Now customers can see our products in the book palace of Taiwan, including its Tun-Nan Head Store and Hsin-I flagship store. At the same time, it impressed us because ZEBEX proved itself qualified of working with a business partner of international standards. This is the kind of partnership that we will definitely want to continue!
