It is a Chinese custom for guests to give newly wed red envelops filled with money when they attend a wedding. The red envelops represent blessings from the guests wishing the new couple good luck, success, and prosperity. The money inside if managed wisely can be used to pay for the banquet, honeymoon, new furniture, or even more.
Whatever the couple chooses to do with the money, it will be one of the first major decisions they have to make together as husband and wife. For better or worst, this money will help them start their brand new lives.
The Dilemma
Marriage and money can prove to be a stressful combination if not handled carefully. Hence, a successful wedding should not only include the food and the venue but it should also include an efficient money management plan. Speaking from personal experience, some couple will get into serious argument for the mishandle of good-fortune money.
Traditionally, the money at Chinese weddings are manually collected by receptionists and recorded with pen and paper. And because all red envelop look alike and names recorded are based on the guests' hand written signatures, this system is found to be time consuming and prone to human error. There is a clear need for a new system to simplify the process. The new system has to process guests faster for better experience and to process good-fortune money in a systematical way to lower human error.
The Solution

A task is pre-written by our powerful propriety software "WinTaskGen" before the wedding. The task will store only two kinds of data: barcode and amount. A set of barcode will also be printed out and place on each red envelope upon receiving. When recipient received the red envelope, he / she simply place the barcode sticker on it, scan it, and enter the dollar amount, all without using pen and paper, which greatly increase the processing time. Visiting guests can quickly enter the events without having to wait in long line.
After the wedding, all the store data will then be uploaded to PC using WinTaskGen. Barcode will then be match with real name manually, the amount can quickly be determined as the end result. Once imported to software such as Excel, advance manipulation such as grand total and reports can be generated easily.
The Benefit
