Mostly the PS/2 scanner is accompanied with a Y cable, when you remove original PS/2 keyboard from system and install PS/2 scanner instead. You have to connect PS/2 keyboard to the other PS/2 port on the Y cable.
If you use a USB keyboard but PS/2, please set the scanner to keyboard stand-alone mode as below.

When the scanner is able to read the barcode the problem may be caused by the incorrect host interpretation of the USB protocol. Please use the following setting codes to adjust the USB speeds.
．USB0: Regular speed mode. Usually for older operating systems like Windows 98 when default setting is not working.
．USB1: Full speed mode. The default speed of the scanner.
．USB2: Middle speed mode. Usually for Mac O.S. or Linux O.S when default setting is not working.
Please follow the steps below and refer to the Programming Guide to set the minimum or maximum length.
Normally the quiet zone has to be observed as necessary when making the barcodes.
If barcodes have been made. Please refer to the margin settings and try to set the margin smaller to see if able to correct the problem and output normally.

The scanner can read barcodes in various colors as long as the colors of the barcodes and the backgrounds meet the contract ratio requirement of the scanner.
Note :
- Bars must always be darker than the spaces. A reversed barcode will not scan.
- For Background : Such as yellow, red, orange and white are good forbackground colors.
- For bars : Such as green, blue, violet, and black make a good choice for bars.
