Please refer to corresponding model user manual and check the LED message stands for. 

Please restore the original firmware or update the firmware again. If problem persists, please return the unit for repair.

Mostly the PS/2 scanner is accompanied with a Y cable, when you remove original PS/2 keyboard from system and install PS/2 scanner instead. You have to connect PS/2 keyboard to the other PS/2 port  on the Y cable. 

If you use a USB keyboard but PS/2, please set the scanner to keyboard stand-alone mode as below.

When the scanner is able to read the barcode the problem may be caused by the incorrect host interpretation of the USB protocol. Please use the following setting codes to adjust the USB speeds.

．USB0: Regular speed mode. Usually for older operating systems like Windows 98 when default setting is not working. 
．USB1: Full speed mode. The default speed of the scanner. 

．USB2: Middle speed mode. Usually for Mac O.S. or Linux O.S when default setting is not working.

．Make sure the scanner is set to the right interface. (USB, keyboard wedge, RS-232, etc.) Please refer to the Programming Guide to setup the scanner interface. 

．Make sure the right cable is used to connect to the host

The character delay time may be set too short. Please refer to the Programming Guide to increase the character delay time.

The default minimum Code 39 length is 3 digits. Please refer to the Programming Guide to enable Full ASCII Code 39 and set the minimum default to 1 digit.

Please follow the steps below and refer to the Programming Guide to set the minimum or maximum length.

The scanners can read the RSS(GS1 Databar) barcodes. Please check the decode capability chart on our website.

The scanner may identify the barcode as EAN-13 code if the first digit of the UPC-A is 0. Please change the scanner setting to "EAN-13 first "0" can be transmitted" using the Programming Guide to resolve this issue.

Normally the quiet zone has to be observed as necessary when making the barcodes.

If barcodes have been made. Please refer to the margin settings and try to set the margin smaller to see if able to correct the problem and output normally.

Please refer to the programming guide to set the EAN/UPC "Add on 2 or 5" for the scanner.

The scanner can read barcodes in various colors as long as the colors of the barcodes and the backgrounds meet the contract ratio requirement of the scanner.

Note :

- Bars must always be darker than the spaces. A reversed barcode will not scan.

- For Background : Such as yellow, red, orange and white are good forbackground colors.

- For bars :  Such as green, blue, violet, and black make a good choice for bars.

Inter Character Delay may not supported via USB connections but to delay the time you can set the scanner to International keyboard (ALT method) to reduce the transfer speed.

You can test the functions using the HyperTerminal in Windows. Press "Ctrl + O" for Disable scanning or "Ctrl + N" for Enable scanning.

Mostly no special cable is necessary to use the USB Virtual COM. To use USB Virtual COM, please refer to the Programming Guide to change the interface settings to USB Virtual COM. 

Notepad does not support receiving data from RS232 port / USB virtual COM. Please use "Hyperterminal" or other similar software instead.

Please download the User's Manual or the Programming Guide for your scanner via our website and print out the programming codes using a laser printer.

There are different ways to output the data correctly with keyboard in different language formats.

First, you can download programming guide and find out keyboard Language Support setting, read the setting as same with the keyboard used.

If you can not find corresponding language setting, please find International Keyboard mode (ALT mode) and set to this mode. 

If still have problem, please contact representative or web technical support with necessary message for further assistance. (Please provide keyboard layout, sample code and expected result. ) 

Please check Zebex website and upgrade the scanner to the latest firmware supported.

The system may not be compatible with the international ALT method. Please set the language property suitable for your keyboard.

The scanners will work on any operating system with USB (HID-Keyboard), RS-232C, or Keyboard (PC AT/PS2) interface.

Please set the setting Start→3909→1→SET→3902→CP05→End.
Then you should be able to scan TAB barcode instead of pressing TAB key. The TAB barcode is in Appendix 4: Full ASCII Code 39 Table of Programming Guide.

Please refer to the programming guide to set the scanner to barcode value to enable inverse EAN/UPC: Start→UER1→End.

Here is the way to check if it is setting successfully. 

This may probably relate to FNC1 setting on Code 128. Just to disable FNC1 should be able to get the right output.

The FNC1 characters are Code128 characters often used in GS1-128 (UCC/EAN128) symbols, to separate data. Normally FNC1{GS} is invisible when output interface is in USB HID mode.
